Your sessions are well organised, encouraging and the praise you gave my son spurred him on and made him keen to attend sessions each week. Your feedback on written work is precise and individualised was particularly useful, with clear targets given to improve.

I just wanted to get in touch to say what an amazing job you are doing bringing the syllabus to life and inspiring a passion for Classics in Lola. She is buzzing after her lessons and says the sessions are so interactive, conversational and varied. I want to thank you - what a gift it is to give a young person a joy in education that will stay with them for the rest of their lives. Picking Classics for A level having not studied it at GCSE was a wild card, but it has been such a good decision. I also want to thank you for how you have switched up your style of teaching and been so adaptable in light of Lola's ADHD diagnosis. Your wish to help your pupils do their best is so impressive. Thank you again for your support, care and encouragement of our girl - we feel incredibly lucky.
Lauren Wood, parent of Lola (Year 12) who received tutoring in Classical Civilisation.

Catherine, we are so, so grateful that we have had you as our tutor over the past two years! You are so talented at what you do and we all agree you are the best teacher we've ever had! Thank you for being fun, inspiring and kind. You will be hard to beat and we are going to miss you so much. We will think of you when we visit the Acropolis this summer - we never would have thought of visiting if we had not enjoyed Classics with you as much as we have!

This is a small card, but an enormous thank you for being a brilliant tutor in a difficult year for my girls. They have been so well looked after - they won't get the same level of care again, I am sure. You have given them so much time, energy and advice. I am hugely grateful for your support, flexibility and kindness
James Leighton, parent of twins in Year 11 who received Academic Mentoring

Catherine is a really good teacher. She helped me a lot when I was struggling and she was able to sympathise with me and relate to me in terms of where I was going wrong. Her sessions are relaxed but all useful and practical. Overall she is amazing - there isn't anything I could say that needs to be better!
Sam Panfield, Year 10, Latin Tutoring Recipient

Catherine, in a young person's life there is often one person they look back on as having been a significant influence; that one teacher or mentor that helped guide them as they navigated their way through life, particularly in the teen years. And it takes a special person to do that. We believe you have been that person for Zoë. We are ever so grateful for your time, energy, patience and humour. We know she will remember you very fondly.
Joanna and Bert, parents of Zoë, Year 11 Academic Mentoring Recipient

You have been an inspiring mentor and a calming rock for me during my GCSEs and I really hope my grades will reflect that.

To Catherine, I was going to try and find a gift to give you at the end of the year to show my gratitude to you, but I realised that there was not a single thing I could buy that could possible hope to demonstrate my gratitude for everything you have done for me in the last three years. I am not sure if it is even possible to put into words how much you have taught me about myself, my attitude, life in general, and how grateful I am for it all. You have had such an immense impact on me as a person and you have gone past any kind of time or effort that was expected of you. I hope you know how many crises you saved me from. The sheets, mind-maps and minute-by-minute shcedule break-downs that you have made for me have helped me walk through some of the darkest days I've had at school. They are a reminder to stay calm and that I will live through whatever may be happening if I take a step-by-step approach to managing it. I will never forget you speeches on the importance of Latin and how it develops vital skills for life. It truly showed me your genuine love and interest in the subject you teach. But I will also never forget you whole-hearted openness to always having a chat to get to know me better. You were a great listener, like a big sister to me. Talking through my problems with you has been some of the most supported I have ever felt. You have taught me how to handle and manage stress. You have helped me learn things about myself that it would have taken years to learn without your help and you really have had an everlasting effect on who I am and how I will live my life. You are one of the most amazing, inspiring, wonderful, clever and stupendous people I have had the fortune to meet. I will miss you terribly.
Kate Graham, Year 9-11 Academic Mentoring and Latin tutoring recipient.
